Jock:  Scott Burns  —  August, 1979 to November, 1980

Here's how Scott tells it....

"One thing (WRKO) did well was market!  Please don't let the promotion pictures (see table below) scare you as they did my children.  Yikes, what were we thinking about in the '70s?  Notice the disco shirt.  And is that a perm?  Geez.  Shoot me!
"

The note from Harry Helson  was the only time he ever really commented on my show.  Harry was kind of quiet, yet this note made my day.

It was also way cool to be able to say I worked with the incredible Charlie Van Dyke.  When Harry left (Donna Halper took over, then Charlie came in), Charlie encouraged me to make tapes to continue my dream of doing mornings.  I ended up in Seattle in 1980 at KJR."

This November, 1979 aircheck is from the station's last days as "almost-CHR."  You'll really enjoy Scott's refreshing style — way beyond time and temp!
This March, 1980 aircheck is abbreviated; the longer version is available on an official BIG 68 CD at The BIG 68 Store. Notice the obvious adult-contemporary format.  Carolyn Murdock does the news.
